Ph.D Laura Buburuzan
OncoTeam Diagnostic, Bucharest, RO
Dr. Laura Buburuzan graduated from the Faculty of Biology, "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iasi, with a Master's degree in molecular genetics, and became a PhD in biology in 2008. Since 2009 she has worked as a scientific researcher at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the Faculty of Biology, University of Bucharest where she has been a lecturer and has been doing practical work for the courses "Molecular basis of diseases" and "Genomics and transcriptomics".
During this period she was a postdoctoral researcher at the Fundeni Clinical Institute and then at the "Victor Babes" Institute. She has attended numerous specialization courses (including the course organized by the European Association of Cytogenetics in Paris, France, where he obtained the European Diploma in Classical and Molecular Cytogenetics) and internships (University of Ghent, Belgium; Norwegian Institute of Public Health, Oslo, Norway; Centre for Pathophysiology, Infectiology and Immunology, Medical University of Vienna, Austria, Institute of Pathology and Neuropathology, University of Tubingen, Germany).
She has participated in numerous national and international research projects, is lead author or co-author on numerous ISI and non-ISI listed articles and two book chapters published by Elsevier Academic Press. Since 2016 she is the coordinator of the Molecular Biology Department in the Onco Team Diagnostic laboratory.
Here she deals with the molecular analysis of different gene mutations associated with different cancers using classical and state-of-the-art molecular biology techniques (classical PCR, real time PCR, multiplex PCR, agarose gel and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, FISH, hybridization, next generation sequencing - NGS and interpretation and analysis of molecular biology results).
In parallel she is a team member of several scientific research projects (PTE - TUMFLOW, ONCONGS).
