Alice Ceacareanu is an oncology pharmacist, scientist, academic, entrepreneur, and life-long learner. Her education started in Biochemistry at the University of Bucharest in 1992. She graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biology. Soon after, she accepted a one-year pharmacology fellow position followed by a physiology fellow position for an additional 3 years at The University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis, Tennessee. In 2005, she applied for and was accepted as an advanced standing graduate student in the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy, a program she graduated in 2007 with a Doctor of Pharmacy. Her clinical pharmacy training continued in St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis with a Pharmacy Practice Residency which she completed in 2008.
She trained well over 2000 students of which she mentored one-on-one nearly 300, both in the lab and at the patient bedside. This passion for learning culminated with creating and launching a new graduate program in translational research management and several continuing education certificate programs. Throughout the time, she led research in both clinical and translational research with a focus on risk assessment and cancer outcomes improvement. Her work was conducted through academic appointments at the University of Tennessee, State University of New York, Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Hartwick College. In 2014, she launched her first commercial development – ROAKETIN Inc., an entrepreneurial venture she still leads as founder and president.
